Using BorderCents

A few useful answers before you start.

Who is this site for?

Remote employees, freelancers, corporate relocators and their households researching a move to the UAE, Spain, Portugal or Thailand. We focus on money decisions, not rankings of every possible nomad destination.

Where should I begin?

Use the four-question Route Starter. Read the relevant country guide, compare two cities, then build your 90-day plan. You can research a city before deciding on a visa or tax position.

Do the calculators predict what I will owe?

No. They illustrate your entered assumptions. The net-pay estimator excludes other-country tax and many deductions, credits and eligibility conditions. Its methodology names the schedules and assumptions used. Ask an adviser to confirm your actual filing position.

Is the advertised mortgage deposit the total cash I need?

No. Regulatory loan-to-value ceilings do not guarantee a loan, and equity does not include transaction fees, valuation gaps or a reserve. Read the UAE foreign-income mortgage guide before relying on a lender quote.

Does a remote-work visa settle tax and payroll?

No. Residence permission, permitted work, personal tax, employer payroll, social security and company presence require separate checks. Our four-route structuring guide explains the distinction.

Where are my inputs and checklist saved?

On this device, in your browser. Nothing in the planning tools is sent to an BorderCents server. Browser storage can be cleared or unavailable, especially in private browsing. Print or download a copy you want to keep.

Will you email my plan or checklist?

Email delivery is not connected yet. The forms save local requests and explain that nothing has been sent. You can download the checklist immediately and keep a calculation summary without waiting for an email.

Are providers paying for recommendations?

No financial-product referral arrangement is active. The planned funding model is advertising. Reserved ad spaces are previews only; no AdSense requests or advertising cookies are currently enabled.

How can I report a mistake?

Email team@bordercents.com with the page URL, exact claim and an official source if possible. See our corrections page. The online form is not connected yet; email us directly.
