How this site earns trust
Editorial standards
A useful answer shows its assumptions, distinguishes the rule from the provider's policy, and says what still needs professional judgment.
Our scope
BorderCents is general financial education for people whose income, residence and obligations cross borders. It is not an individualized financial, tax, immigration, legal or insurance advisory service. A guide helps you frame a decision and prepare evidence; it cannot establish your eligibility or replace an adviser who knows your facts.
Evidence hierarchy
For tax, immigration, employment, housing registration, banking regulation and public services, the responsible government, regulator or statute comes first. We use provider documents for provider-specific acceptance, benefits and pricing, not to prove what the law requires. Where sources conflict or a rule is under review, we say so and avoid a definitive outcome.
How source checks are recorded
We retain source URLs, the date of a source check and material changes in the editorial source records and version history. Guide headers and cards do not display verification-date badges. Internal review records and article update metadata are not a guarantee that every rule remains current or that an independent professional has reviewed the guide. Use the linked authority’s current instructions before acting.
Examples, calculations and authorship
Household cases are labeled illustrative composites, not actual resident testimony or individualized recommendations. Numbers are either sourced and dated or described as placeholders for your own quotes. BorderCents Editorial is the publishing byline; we do not claim a named CFP, CPA or solicitor reviewed every guide. Specialist review will be credited only when it has actually occurred.
Corrections
A factual correction should identify the page, exact claim, a dated primary source and why it changes the decision. We recheck material errors and record relevant changes. See the contact page for the chosen editorial address and current delivery availability.
How the site is funded
We are preparing for display advertising only. There are no paid referrals, affiliate links or specialist lead forms. Advertising, if approved and activated, will be separated from editorial content and labeled “Advertisements.” It will not determine a guide's conclusion or sit against navigation, calculators or Blueprint controls. AdSense approval and a certified consent setup are pending; no ad code is currently loaded.
Our guides can name a bank or service to explain a decision. A mention is not a paid recommendation or proof that a provider will accept your circumstances. Check current terms directly.
Review cadence and our publishing byline
Our intended schedule is quarterly rechecking of rule-sensitive tax, immigration, banking and contribution claims, with earlier checks after official changes or credible corrections. This is an editorial target, not a claim that every page has received a quarterly independent audit. Review information is retained in the editorial source records and version history, not displayed as a verification badge on each guide or card.
We compare statutes, official gazettes, tax-department guidance and central-bank material first; provider documents establish only that provider’s terms. Calculations state the year, region, inputs and omissions. Drafting software does not replace primary-source checks. No blanket “verified for all 2026 rules” seal is used.

AI assistance & publisher review
The publisher personally reads and reviews the articles before publication. AI assists drafting, editing, organization and software development. Publisher review and technical tests are distinct from an independent professional audit. We do not imply that a licensed adviser has verified every guide or that all sample costs and scores are statutory facts.
