Resident Panel

BorderCents Resident Panel — Moderated research findings launching soon.

Official rules can tell you what is required. Residents can reveal the practical friction in a specific place and month. We will publish those observations only when there is enough reviewed context to avoid turning one story into a city-wide claim.

How a future finding will read

Context first. A badge you can understand.

Lived Experience

What a resident reports

A dated, location-specific observation, with an anonymous household and work profile. It describes what happened to that contributor; it is never presented as a legal rule or universal price.

Example metadata format: “Foreign-employed family · renting · Dubai Hills · since 2024” and “Observed March 2026 · verified April 2026.” This is a format example, not a submitted finding.
Statutory Legal Rule

What an authority requires

A rule-sensitive statement must link to the responsible government or regulator and carry the date we checked it. Resident memory cannot establish a visa, tax, tenancy or banking rule.

Rules remain in our sourced guides, not in a resident anecdote feed.

Public panel policy

What we would verify before publication.

Specific observations are useful. Unchecked certainty is not.

01

Establish context

We require the city, approximate neighborhood, month observed, living arrangement, income/work setup and when the contributor began living there. We never publish a name, exact address or identifying employer.

02

Check the observation

A moderator reviews internal consistency, date and specificity, requests supporting detail where appropriate, and removes promotions or claims we cannot responsibly contextualize. “Verified” means reviewed evidence and context—not guaranteed typicality.

03

Separate rules from stories

Tax, immigration, landlord and banking rules are checked against primary sources in the guides. We do not turn an observation about one branch, agent or official into a statutory claim.

04

Keep it correctable

Published observations will show an observation month and a verification month. We will review corrections, hide stale material and explain material edits. No paid placement or sponsor can buy a panel finding.

Launch gate: at least 15 validated observations with a useful spread of contributors and places. Reaching 15 does not itself authorize publication; moderation, privacy and consent controls must also be ready.

Private draft

Write down what you would tell a newcomer.

This is a writing aid while the moderated panel is being built. Your draft stays in this browser and is not submitted. Please do not include names, account details or an exact address.

  • One specific decision or surprise
  • The month and neighborhood where it happened
  • What you would verify before repeating the choice

Useful while the panel is closed

Use the source-backed guides for rules and the city comparison for planning trade-offs. Resident findings will supplement them, not replace them.
