Money after the move
What could you actually spend each month?
Enter your income and a real exchange-rate quote. This model estimates destination tax and transfer costs for Spain, the UAE or Thailand; it does not calculate what you may still owe elsewhere.
What the estimate does—and does not—cover
It treats your entered gross income as one person's annual employment or service income and spreads annual tax evenly over 12 months. The chosen exchange rate converts it into the destination currency, then the model subtracts destination income tax, the selected social-contribution assumption and FX friction. A married or dependent household changes what you should check, but this first estimate does not assume joint filing or child relief you may not qualify for.
Spain’s standard-IRPF example uses the tax authority’s published 2025 state and four regional schedules as a planning baseline, including a basic personal minimum; it is not a 2026 tax return. The Beckham example applies 24% up to €600,000 and 47% above only if you actually qualify. For Thailand, “not remitted” means the modeled foreign-source income stays outside Thailand and therefore produces no local spending cash; income from work performed in Thailand is not made foreign-source by a foreign payer. Foreign tax credits, treaties, other-country tax, wealth or investment income, business tax, bonuses, deductions and detailed payroll rules are excluded.

Dual-currency Net Pay: from gross salary to spendable cash
The estimator converts entered gross income at your exchange rate, applies the chosen limited destination-tax scenario, subtracts the modeled social contributions and adds the selected transfer friction. Annual amounts are divided by twelve to display a comparable monthly result. A rate is destination-currency units per unit of earning currency. When both currencies are the same, the rate is one; the selector is not a live currency feed.
Spain’s ordinary model uses visibly dated 2025 schedules, a simplified personal minimum and stated payroll assumptions. Conditional Article 93 employment treatment uses 24% through EUR 600,000 and 47% above, without deciding eligibility. The Spain employee illustration assumes an indefinite contract, even pay over twelve months, and the 2026 capped base contribution of 6.5% plus the employee solidarity charge above EUR 5,101.20 per month. The solidarity tiers are 0.19%, 0.21% and 0.24%, under Order PJC/297/2026, Article 17. Use confirmed coverage and a manual contribution amount when these assumptions do not fit. Household selection records your circumstances but does not grant spouse or child tax relief automatically.
UAE employment income uses zero personal income tax locally; continuing origin tax and business-level tax are not removed. Thailand’s remitted case uses a conservative assessable-income stress test without automatically supplying deductions or treaty credits. The genuinely foreign-source, non-remitted case produces no transferred local cash; work physically carried out in Thailand is different. A displayed tax-free offshore balance is not a budget for paying a Thai landlord.
Additional FX friction is applied after modeled tax and contributions. If your quoted rate already includes the provider’s spread, select zero additional friction to avoid counting it twice. This tool does not model U.S. worldwide filing, pensions, dividends, share awards, wealth tax or a complete payroll return. Use the new comparator or professional advice for those separate questions.
Turn a useful estimate into a decision
Replace the sample amounts with written quotes before you sign. An annual charge should be divided by twelve only when you are testing a monthly budget; it may still have to be paid upfront. Separate refundable deposits from expenses, and do not count a deposit as cash you can immediately spend again. Keep every input in the currency stated beside the tool. A currency selector that changes a label does not convert an existing number.
The calculation runs locally in your browser. It cannot approve a visa, verify a payslip, promise bank acceptance or establish tax residence. Government references explain the applicable rule, while rent, insurance, lender margins and provider charges need their own dated quotes. Run an ordinary-treatment or higher-cost fallback as well as your preferred case. If the move only works under an unconfirmed exemption or a bonus that has not been paid, resolve that uncertainty before committing.

Questions worth asking
Are the exchange rates live?
No. Enter a reference rate and account for its included spread consistently.
Can I spend non-remitted Thai funds locally?
The non-remitted scenario does not transfer local cash. Local spending needs its own source and remittance review.
